First harvest

Our garden is in full gear (I need to do a post about it on it's own - I will soon!) and we've started to harvest a few things here and there. Mostly banana peppers, serrano peppers, cilantro, parsley, and basil to name a few. We are anxiously awaiting the ripening of the hundreds of tomatoes we have on the vines, but until then we're working with what we have.
While Cora was busy taking a record 2 1/2 hour nap today, Leyna and I were busy in the kitchen making magic of our recent harvest. We ended up with 6 jars of salsa, a jar of pickled banana peppers and a bottle of extra pickling liquid that I'm hoping I can use later, and a first time batch of parsley pesto. Everything is so tasty. Well, we haven't tried the peppers yet because they have to sit for two weeks but I know they will be awesome!
