Breakfast - Turkey Pancake

The feast - Leyna ate 2 rolls, a few bites of turkey, and 1 lima bean

Cora had at least 2 helpings of lima beans and half a roll. And she liked the cranberry relish if it was Nana's and Nana fed it to her.

Early Thanksgiving Feast

Today we had an early Thanksgiving meal and I just want to show off the spread. It was a little different than the usual fare and everything went together so well. I forgot to take a picture of the Autumn Sangria we drank and the Greek salad that Teresa made so just try to picture them in your head :)

Pizza Friday - Thanksgiving Pizza

Tonight was kind of a no-brainer. I just HAD to make a pizza with Thanksgiving leftovers. So, I sprayed a baking dish with olive oil, spread leftover mashed potatoes on the bottom and sprinkled them with parmesan cheese. I baked it at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes and then broiled it until golden brown. After that I took it out and topped it with sauerkraut, gravy, mozzarella, turkey, and sprinkled it all with some of Nana's famous stuffing (it's the BEST). I baked it again until everything looked melty and good. Voila! A delicious "pizza" that the adults gobbled up and the girls wouldn't touch with a ten foot spoon. Oh well. I made them some mini bread pizzas and they were happy too :)
Now what do we do with the leftover leftovers?

Turkey Cookies

Leyna saw some cute turkey shaped cookies on TV the other day and has been begging to make them ever since. So, we whipped these little cuties up today. Well, I should say they were cute before we baked them. Afterward was another story. Here's the play by play:

Turkeys up close. Sugar cookie dough, mini chocolate chip eyes, candy corn beaks and feathers, and a cranberry waddle.

because they sure weren't cute once we baked them!

I think I may have to throw my cookie sheet away! Melted candy corn turns into stained glass. Next time we'll bake the cookies and press the decorations into them right out of the oven while they're still soft. Either that or use frosting to glue them on. Lesson learned! They still tasted good :)
